Laurel Land Farms

Laurel Land Farms will be a 172-acre regenerative-organic certified farm, cafe, and community center in Somis, California.

We will produce carbon-free and nutrient-dense foods; and we will engage the community through on-farm events, training, and dining.

Orchards

Planted on our south-facing slopes, the 90-acre orchard at Laurel Land Farms will be a diverse and colorful landscape. We expect 50-70 varieties which, coupled with cover crops, companion planting, and moderate animal grazing, will deliver the most flavorful fruits. No pesticides, insecticides, or herbicides of any kind will be used.

Pastures

On ~50 acres, Laurel Land Farms will raise many heritage breeds under collaborative adaptive grazing to promote restoration of soils and grasslands. Pasturing of multiple species allows for a more complete use of space, more diverse plant species, and eliminating parasites and disease which otherwise would require medications harmful to soil life. No man-made chemicals, hormones, antibiotics, vaccines, pour-ons, animal by-products, pesticides, or soy will be used.

Gardens

Market Garden

The 2-3-acre Market Garden at Laurel Land Farms will utilize the strategies of permaculture, companion planting, integrative pest management, and composting. The garden will require some of the most intensive care on the farm, but it will produce a bounty of high-quality produce. Pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, GMOs, and man-made chemicals will not be used
